Amlou Argan Spread
Moroccan nutty sweet spread of roasted almonds, rich toasted culinary argan oil, and honey.
Ingredients
What you’ll need
- 2 cups raw almonds
- 1/2 cup culinary toasted argan oil
- 1/3 cup wildflower honey
- a pinch of salt
Method
How it comes together
- 1
Roast raw almonds at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden-brown inside. Let cool completely.
- 2
Grind almonds in a high-powered food processor until they form a smooth, oily nut butter paste.
- 3
Drizzle in culinary toasted argan oil slowly while blending on low, followed by honey and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and slightly runny.
Accuracy note
Cosmetic argan oil is not edible. Culinary argan oil is made from roasted kernels and should carry food-grade labeling.
Chef’s note
Ensure you use toasted argan oil intended for culinary use—cosmetic argan oil is untreated and bitter.
